Hollywood is the 12th largest city within Florida. It is situated in Broward County, Florida in the United States. Hollywood had a population of 140,768 based on the Census of 2010. The city of Hollywood was established during the year 1925 and the area grew rapidly during the 1950s and during the 1960s. For the South Florida metropolitan area, the city of Hollywood is a principal city and during the same 2010 census, there were around 5,564,699 individuals calling the vicinity home.

In the start of the 1920s, a visionary planner by the name of Joseph Wesley Young, founded the community. It wasn't until the 28th of November, 1925, when Hollywood was incorporated as a township. Young wanted to provide a city for everybody; he wished to build his "Dream City in Florida." The vision incorporated all people from the rich at the top of the ladder to the humblest working class. During the year 1928, Mr. Young helped to secure the financing and provide the inspiration to create Port Everglades. Roughly 80% of the Port is located in the limits of the city. These days, the Port is amongst the country's busiest.

The city of Hollywood provides easy access to Port Everglades. It is the 2nd busiest cruise port in the globe. The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is another really busy location. The Port of Miami and the Miami International Airport are roughly 25 miles away. Two main railroads cut through the city of Hollywood, together with the Florida Turnpike and the Tri-County Commuter Rail.

The city of Hollywood is nestled between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. It is a classic Florida beach town. It has enchanted and attracted tourists ever since the 1920s. The Hollywood Beach Boardwalk is an oceanfront walkway in Hollywood Beach. This one-of-a-kind unique boardwalk stretches almost two and a half miles along the Atlantic Ocean. Travel and Leisure Magazine has named it one of America's Best Beach Boardwalks. There are various cafes and eateries along the stretch and the brick paved setup is a haven for joggers, bicyclists and roller-bladers.

The charming village feel together with the easy ocean access make this an extremely famous location for families and individuals who enjoy to travel. There are many small inns, highly rated hotels and restaurants situated right on the walkway. The family dining ambiance is perfect for moms and dads who would like to kick back and enjoy a meal near the sea while their kids can entertain themselves in the sand just steps away. The region definitely offers something for everyone and is a great place to visit no matter what your age.

There are 2 parks situated along the walkway that attract kids and adults of all ages. They could play paddleball at the historic courts on Garfield Street or they can cool off in a fun dolphin play fountain. Josh's Organic Market is a super famous location. The locals rave about it. They install shop at the boardwalk's south end each and every weekend. This outdoor market blends various tropical smoothies and delicious fresh drinks from their seaside stand.
