The prospering city of Garden Grove was founded in the year 1874 by Dr, Alonzo Cook. It was incorporated on the 18th of June, the year 1956 and celebrated its 50th birthday in 2006. The city has a total area of 17.8 square miles and presently has a population of 172,000. Garden Grove has a very convenient place south of Los Angeles in Orange County. Several attractions are situated close by, such as Knotts Berry Farm (7 miles), Disneyland (1 mile), beaches (roughly 9 miles) and the John Wayne Airport (10 miles).

This vibrant city is full of religious and ethnic diversity with a motto of "The City of Youth and Ambition". It is likewise home to largest number of churches or places of worship compared to any other city in California. The world famous Crystal Cathedral is situated within Garden Grove. Each year, the city hosts four cultural festivals celebrating Korean, Arabic, American and Vietnamese culture and history. It likewise presents the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival, which is the biggest community-based Memorial Day event in the United States.

Garden Grove provides several educational institutions that have been ranked amongst the safest and best within the county.
