The city of Fontana was founded during the year 1913 and has ever since grown to a population of 190,356 residents. The city is located within San Bernardino County, with the Interstate 15 passing diagonally through the northwest part of the city and the State Route 2010 and Interstate 20 intersecting the city from east to west. The cities financial system was primarily rural until WWII, When Henry J. Kaiser constructed a large steel mill in the city. This has since been replaced with the Auto Club Speedway.

Fontana is presently home to the biggest library within San Bernardino County. It has numerous attractions and amenities which appeal to tourists and residents alike. There is a renovated historic theatre where live shows are played, together with a beautiful city park and the Auto Club Speedway. Fontana is the home to the 5K run and Fontana Days Half Marathon, which is the fastest half marathon course in the world.

The financial system of Fontana is mainly industrial, but has a big influence in the trucking industry. There are several truck dealerships, in addition to the various industrial equipment sale centers situated throughout the city. There are plenty of centers, like Sears, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and Target, that distribute their products. Salvage yards are somewhat common here, along with small car dealerships. Retail is likewise really common within the city. There are two main shopping centers within the city, with Palm Court in the south end of the city and Summit Heights Gateway/Falcon Ridge Town Centre in the north.
