North Vancouver City is a municipality of the north shore of Burrard Inlet. It is considered to be the most urbanized -- and smallest among the 3 municipalities of North Shore.

The Arts and Culture scene is extremely dynamic on the North Shore of Vancouver. Its arts galleries vary from photographic exhibits to modern art, and among the most popular art galleries comprise: Capilano University Studio Art gallery, Artists for Kids Gallery, Gallery Yoyo, CityScape Community Art Space, Khot-la-cha Art Gallery (hot-La-Cha showcases stuff created by several of British Columbia's best Aboriginal artists and craftspeople; most of the crafts and artwork are created by Squamish Indian Band members. Included are hand-carved yellow and red cedar plaques and totem poles, ceremonial masks, Hand Knit Indian sweaters, moccasins, and limited-edition prints), Seymor Art gallery, Presentation House Gallery, Buckland Southerst Gallery, Bellevue Gallery, Ferry Building Gallery (it features works of art of both established and emerging artists, who are past or present North Shore artists), and Kay Meek Centre Gallery. Concerts and Theatre likewise flourish in the area, and people would like some of the presentations at the Deep Cove Stage Theatre, First Impressions Theatre, Presentation House Theatre, Centennial Theatre, Capilano College Performing Arts Theatre, Hendry Hall Theatre, Ann MacDonald Studio and Silk Porse Arts Centre. Museum-lovers could go to Nthe National Maritime Centre, North Vancouver Museum and Archives and Deep Cove Heritage Society.

There are many attractions within the city, and a lot of them are provided all year round. Amongst the sites to go to are: Parks in the City, The Pier, Mahon Spray Park, City Skate Park, Lower Lonsdale Community Garden, Trans Canada Trail Pavilion, and Chiba Garden. The Pier is North Vancouver's newest attractions. It offers a breathtaking view and walk back in time. The Burrard Dry Dock Pier is a 700-foot long public walkway which extends to Burrard Inlet. Parks within the City is one of the most beautiful scenery in the Lower Mainland. There are roughly forty parks located all over the City, with each park providing individualized trails meant for the avid hiker. City Skate Park comprises 16,000 square feet of curbs, walls, and ramps. The Skate Park looks like an urban plaza, and several avid skaters are invited to try out the "Wave" - a skate-able public art piece. Mahon Spray Park is meant for water-enthusiasts who like to have fun with their family. The park consists of 20 items of spray equipment, and it provides numerous creative, interactive, and water elements for everybody to enjoy.

There is a lot of diversity in the City of North Vancouver. There are shopping centres, dynamic industrial areas, major port terminals, shipbuilding facilities, and waterfront business parks. The infrastructure within the city helps to support specialty manufacturing and advanced technology sectors and there is a good mix of professional and commercial services. The city also would like to balance the needs of the community and the environment through becoming a leader in sustainable economic environment development through its LEED building standards, Official Community Plan, Transportation Plan and Economic Development Strategy.
