The city of Tillsonburg is located on Highway 3 at the intersection of Highway 19, about 50 kilometres southeast of London City.

The city of Tillsonburg is situated at the confluence of three counties: Oxford, Norfolk and Elgin counties. Before, tobacco was a main economic industry. Since the decline of this business, the economy has become more diversified. The automobile sector is essential since some division plants of major US-based automotive suppliers are situated within the city, including TRW - 2 plants, Rieter Automotive, Johnson Controls and Guardian Industries.
