Located within King County, Washington, the city of Tukwila sits on the northern edge of Seattle. The people of the city is approximately 19,000 based on the 2010 census. Almost 1/4 of the population is under the age of 18, whilst 10.4% of the people was aged 18 to 24 years. Around 37.3% are aged twenty five to forty four and 20.5% in the age group of 45 to 64. Last of all, only 7.8% were aged 65 or older. The median age came in at 33 years old. Statistically, for each 100 females, there were 109.3 males in the population and for each one hundred females over the age of eighteen, there were 108.9 males.

During the past few decades within the city of Tukwila, homelessness continues to be an ongoing concern with a large connection with poverty in the area. The leaders within the city have been working towards positive solutions to end the vicious cycle which poverty and homelessness create. Then again, in recent years, the city and the local churches have found a different approach to dealing with the problems created by poverty. The Riverton Park United Methodist Church, that is situated in northeast Cascade View and the Church by the Side of the Road, that is found within south Cascade View, hosted a controversial homeless camp in the years 2003 and 2004. Southcenter Mall is home to trendy stores and shopping centers, combined with nearby car dealerships that add to the glamour of a once farm-based economy.

The Westfield Southcenter is the biggest shopping complex within the Puget Sound. It is situated within Tukwila along with numerous Boeing corporation facilities. The city is also home to various Corporate datacenters like Savvis, Internap, Microsoft, the University of Washington, digital.forest, AboveNet, HopOne and Fortress Cocolation. Most of these are located within the Sabey Corporation Intergate. Numerous Internet datacenters are found here as well.

Located just 5 minutes from the Boeing Field sits the Seattle Campus, which is likewise only 5 minutes from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Interestingly enough, just around 17, 000 people live in the city of Tukwila whilst approximately 45,000 people work there on a daily basis.

An interesting fact is that the city of Tukwila was the birthplace of Nintendo of America. The original US warehouse for the business was leased to Nintendo by a landlord by the name of Mario Segale. His name became the namesake of the video game plumber well-known around the world.
