Memphis City, the third largest city within Tennessee State and the third largest within Southeast US, is the county seat of Shelby County. It is within the southwest corner of the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is considered the youngest of the four major cities of Tennessee consisting of Knoxville, Nashville and Chattanooga.
