The city of Henderson, Nevada, lies in the Las Vegas metropolitan area only five miles from the city of Las Vegas. It is Nevada's second biggest city (Las Vegas is the largest). This rapidly growing suburb of 257,729 people is located in the Mojave Desert within Clark County. Henderson is fortunate to be situated near three of the top man-made attractions within the world - the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Las Vegas Strip - and natural attractions that are famous around the world - Death Valley and the Grand Canyon. This particular resort city features top-notch golf courses, famous casinos, world-class meeting facilities and great attractions. Each year, numerous of tourists come to Henderson to benefit from all kinds of entertainment the area has to offer.

The site of Henderson was the chosen location of the WWII Basic Magnesium Plant. This particular plant produced magnesium to be used in airplane parts and in the munitions casings of incendiary devices. Engineer Fred D. Gibson learned the secret of creating magnesium on a trip to Great Britain. The technology of the "miracle metal" gave the United States and its allies an edge which helped win the war.

The city's cultural attractions are many. The Water Street Arts District boasts exceptional shops and restaurants.
