Fayetteville is a city within the south-central part of North Carolina and the location of Fort Bragg. The city of Fayetteville is about one hour from Raleigh City, the capital of the state. Fayetteville serves as the county seat of Cumberland County.

Fort Bragg is a major U.S. Army installation located approximately twelve miles northwest of the city. Thousands of select paratroopers frequently deploy from there on missions around the globe. Originally a field artillery base in WWI, Fort Bragg became the training ground for the country's Airborne Divisions in the second World War.

Fayetteville City is serviced by major streets like Interstates I-295 and i-95, U.S. Routes 13, 301, and 401, and North Carolina State Highways 24, 53, and 87. The city is serviced by a local airport with connections to Atlanta, Philadelphia and Charlotte, among other cities.

The Fayetteville area was established in 1739 by immigrants from Scotland. Two early settlements, Cross Creek and Campbellton, converged during the year 1783 to be able to create the city of Fayetteville. It was named to honor a Revolutionary War hero, the Marquis de Lafayette. Formerly North Carolina Capital (1789-1793), the city of Fayetteville lost out to the city of Raleigh in its efforts to become the permanent state capital. Fayetteville endured obstacles two times all through its history, once in the year 1831 the time The Great Fire destroyed a lot of the city, comprising the original State House. Then for a second time, in the Civil War, the city was destroyed by General Sherman's Union troops when they burned the Confederate arsenal there. Despite these calamities several buildings have been preserved within the historic districts of Fayetteville.

Numerous people are employed at Fort Bragg. The U.S. Army installation's economic impact numbers in the billions annually. Manufacturing is vital to the city's financial system. There are companies which manufacture tires and automotive products, and power tools. Other main employment sectors are education, health care, food services, accommodation, construction and government.

The labor force of Fayetteville consists of several previous military workers. Registered nurse jobs, teaching, wholesale and manufacturing sales reps, computer specialists and analysts, human and social service assistants, education administrators, management analysts and social workers are jobs within the region which require a degree in college. The civilian population works primarily in four employment categories: professional and related professions, office and sales professions, transportation, material moving and production jobs and management, business and financial.
