Concord is a city in North Carolina State, United States. The city of Concord is the twelfth largest city in the state. With a population of about 79,066, it is the biggest city in Cabarrus County and serves as the county seat. Concord is the 2nd most populous city in the Charlotte Metropolitan Area, next to Charlotte City. It is located twenty miles from Salisbury and around the same distance northeast of Uptown Charlotte. The city of Concord is positioned midway between these two cities. Other centers which are populated around the city consist of China Grove, Landis, Kannapolis, Mt. Pleasant, Midland, Harrisburg and Locust.

Concord won an All-America City Award in the year 2004. Situated within the piedmont area of the state of North Carolina, the city of Concord was once covered in forests and is hilly. The summers in the city of Concord are humid and hot, while winters are cool.

The county of Cabarrus was established in the year 1792. Four years afterward, the city of Concord was established and named the county seat. The area was inhabited by Germans, Scottish, and Irish. Concord was formally incorporated during the year 1806. The Scotia Seminary was located within the city. This particular seminary was a significant black women's school, founded during the year 1867. Zion Hill A. M. E. Zion Church, the city's oldest African-American church, was built during the year 1859.

Concord's economic base is mostly shipping and transportation, manufacturing, banking, service sectors and motorsports. Concord's big employers consist of Carolinas Medical Center, Cabarrus County Schools, Connextions, Roush Fenway Racing, Sysco Foods and S&D Coffee. The city also has numerous small businesses. The downtown is fascinating with a lot of shops, like for example those selling arts and crafts, fine collectibles and antiques. Concord Mills and Carolina Mall are large retail centers in the city.

The region's history is best explored at the Concord Museum. The city has many parks, like the Beverly Hills Neighborhood Park, Hillgrove Filtration Park, Caldwell Community Park, Frank Liske Park, Les Myers Community Park and Echo park. Shoppers would find plenty of variety at the Concord Parkade Shopping Center, Concord Plaza Shopping Center and Carolina Mall.
