The city of Kansas is the third largest city within Kansas State. Kansas City is the county seat of Wyandotte County, the city is additionally the third largest suburb of Kansas City, in Missouri. The "Unified Government" is the term meaning part of a consolidated city-county government and Kansas City, together with Edwardsville City and Bonner Springs City comprise this union. Google said during March of 2011 that Kansas City had been chosen as the selected location of a trial fiber-optic network which Google would build at no cost to Kansas City. From a field of 1100 communities within the USA which had applied for the network, Kansas City was selected. Google intends to have the network operating by 2012.
