Applicant Requirements

Personal Essay

Students will submit a one-page, typed, personal essay that includes career and educational goals, career choice, tribal and community involvement, and how this scholarship will affect their college education.

  • Students must be a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. Students may submit one application per semester.
  • Students who are applying for any restricted scholarships must comply with the specific requirements in the description.

Required Documents

In order to be considered for a scholarship please submit the following:

  • Completed Scholarship Application Form
  • Muscogee (Creek) Nation Citizenship ID Card
  • Personal essay
  • Educational records: Official high school transcript or GED certificate, or most recent college transcript.
  • College admissions acceptance letter.
  • Any supporting documents: Certifications, awards, letters of recommendation, financial aid, etc.

Aktopv ‘Bridge’ Scholarship  $1,000

  • Must be a non-traditional student.

A Second Chance Scholarship  $1,000

  • Must have been convicted of a felony
  • Must provide a letter of recommendation

Cameron Jeffrey Osborn Scholarship (Fall Only)  $500

  • Must provide proof of adoption, or a member of the armed forces

Checotah Casino Scholarship (Fall Only)  $1,000

  • Must be a graduating senior from Checotah High School

Cheyanne Micah Scholarship  $500

  • Must be attending a technical school

Daniel/Dunzy Community Initiative Scholarship  $500

  • Must currently reside within MCN jurisdictional boundary
  • Must be contributing to charitable event/opportunities in tribal or local communities
  • Must provide essay and community service hours

ECKE ‘MVNOKECKV (A Mother’s Love) Scholarship  $1,500

  • Must be a single mother

Eunice Gene Smith Abbott Legacy Healthcare Scholarship  $2,000

Must be pursuing a career as a health care provider

Everlasting Crown Scholarship  $1,000

  • Must be a graduate student pursuing a Master’s Degree and/or Ph.D. in Social Sciences
  • Must be a parent or guardian

Fighting Cancer for Kat Scholarship  $500

  • Must have at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Must give a personal statement stating how cancer has affected the applicant’s life

Fostering Care Scholarship  $500

  • Must show proof that the student was a Ward of the Court for at least six months after the age of 13 and resided in out of home care placement

Gen1 Scholarship  $1,000

  • Must be a first-generation student

Guardians of Sovereignty (Female) Scholarship  $500

  • Must be a veteran, descendant of a veteran, or spouse of a veteran

Guardians of Sovereignty (Male) Scholarship  $500

  • Must be a veteran, descendant of a veteran, or spouse of a veteran

Health Systems Scholarship  $1,000

  • Must be pursuing a career in the healthcare field

Jackson Narcomey Scholarship  $500

  • Must be currently enrolled as an Art major or related field
  • Must give a personal statement indicating how this scholarship will help the applicant complete his/her education and the type of medium used by the applicant

Jeff Tiger Memorial Scholarship  $500

  • Must be currently attending the University of Oklahoma;
  • Must be a political science and/or economics major;
  • Must submit an additional 250 word, or less, essay: Describe what Sooner Magic means to you

Lawrence and Rita Olson Scholarship  $1,000

  • Must be in the field of Natural Resources or closely related field

Lou Canard Navarro Scholarship  $1,000

  • Must be pursuing a degree in architecture, design, or engineering
  • Must provide an extra essay
  • Must participate in a grant interview if requested

Muscogee (Creek) National Council Scholarship  $1,000

  • Must be an enrolled citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation
  • Must be pursuing a first-time Master’s, Doctorate as a full-time/part-time student at an accredited graduate school
  • Must adhere to the application requirements established by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program
  • Must provide supporting documentation of leadership skills while obtaining degree

Mvskoke Media  $2,000

  • Must be pursuing a career path in graphic design, journalism, or marketing
  • Must complete 200 hours of the Mvskoke Media Internship Program

Nathan Weaver  $1,000

  • Must have lost a parent prior to the age of 18 years old

Okemah OMNIC Community (Fall Only)  $1,000

  • Must live within the Okemah community boundaries

Opothle Yohola Trail of Tears Scholarship- $500

  • Must have a GPA of 3.0, or ACT score of 21

River Spirit Hospitality Scholarship  $1,000

  • Must be a student in a hospitality-based degree program;
  • Must submit an additional 250-word, or less, essay about your future goals and how scholarship funding will be used

Sterlin Harjo Scholarship- $1,000

  • Must be pursuing a degree in creative arts, film and television, art, architectural or visual design
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA

Vtotketv Scholarship  $500

  • Must be enrolled in a certificate program

Walter Dzurus III First Generation Scholarship- $500

  • Must be a first-generation student
