Do I qualify?
To qualify for the NBA Foundation Scholarship, students must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
Be a legal resident of Nebraska
Be originally from Nebraska; non-Nebraska residents, even if attending a Nebraska college, are not eligible.
Student Status
The scholarship is open to full-time college students entering their junior or senior year.
- Students must have completed at least their sophomore year by the start of the Fall 2025 semester.
- High school students are not eligible.
Attend a Nebraska state or private college or university
College students attending full-time at a non-University of Nebraska school (non-eligible schools: UNL, UNK, UNO and UNMC)
Areas of Study
- Students must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in:
- Finance
- Accounting
- Economics
- Marketing
- Another banking-related major
GPA Status
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Essay
In 300 words max (200 words minimum), answer the following questions:
- What are your career goals?
- How will the banking industry play a role in your future career?
Letter of Support
Submit a letter of support from an NBA-member banker. If you already know a banker, feel free to connect with them. If you don't have an existing relationship with a banker, the NBA can help introduce you to one.
- The banker may use the following guidelines for the letter:
- Student's career goals, especially whether he or she intends to pursue a career in banking
- Whether the student would be a deserving recipient and/or how the student would benefit from the scholarship
- Your overall impression of the student - involvement in extracurriculars, community outreach and work experience
Resume
Submit a current resume highlighting relevant work and/or volunteer experience, extracurricular activities, education, etc.
Unofficial transcript
Obtain a copy of your unofficial transcript from your school's registrar office.
