The members of Mount Evans Lodge #7 established this scholarship award of not less than $500.00 in the name of our deceased life member, Most Worshipful Past Grand Master David L. Holliman (MWPGM Holliman)

PGM Holliman was an ardent entrepreneur, business-man and history maker in the State of Colorado and the United States of America. We aspire to remember MWPGM Holliman for his personal influence on Free Masonry and society.

The scholarship awardee shall demonstrate and evidence the ability to set and reach goals as shown by outstanding academic achievement, community service, and/or work-related activities especially those that address health & welfare, environment issues, or business/entrepreneurial endeavors

Scholarship applications opening date is 1 November of each calendar year and closing December 31 of the year.

Proceeds will be sent to the designated college of the Awardee by July 31.

Applicant qualifications for submission

  1. Applicant must be of African-American descent and admitted to an associate or baccalaureate accredited granting scholastic institution.
  2. Must be a U.S. Citizen and Colorado State resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior and scheduled to an associate or baccalaureate accredited granting scholastic institution in the Fall of the graduating year.
  4. The applicant must be 17 through 21 years of age.
  5. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Required Documentation

  1. A completed David L. Holliman Scholarship Application.
  2. Current official academic transcript with not less than a 2.5 GPA. You must request that your registrar/counselor send this directly to our mailing address, or to you in a sealed envelope to accompany your submission packet. Note: We will only accept unofficial or student copies if your school is on Fall break and/or closed. You will be asked to submit the official document once available for further evaluation.
  3. A personal resume/summary of qualifications with emphasize on community service.
  4. A recent personal photograph for journal publication.
  5. Two letters of recommendation: one from a community member; one from a member of the educational staff.
  6. Essay: How the legacy of Past Grand Master David L. Holliman, and the fraternity of Prince Hall Free Masonary will encourage you as the award recipient to achieve success in your chosen field of study; 750 word maximum essay, double space, one inch margins, 12pt font, Times Roman or similar AND.
