Kin Canada Bursaries was established in 1994 by Kin Canada as a legacy to its Founder, Harold Allin Rogers, O.C., O.B.E. (1899-1994) and is funded by Kinsmen and Kinettes across Canada. The program was established to promote, encourage and sponsor educational programs and activities, by providing financial assistance in the amount of $1000 to successful applicants in their quest for higher learning at a recognized post-secondary institution.

To be eligible you must:

  1. Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  2. Plan to register as a full-time student in the 2026-2027 school year at a recognized post-secondary institution (e.g. University, College, Trade School, Technical Institute)
  3. Demonstrate high ideals, community involvement and knowledge of Kin, and
  4. Not have previously received a Kin Canada Bursary.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Complete all sections of the current application form and submit by FEBRUARY 1ST via this online application. Applications will not be eligible if emailed or mailed directly to a Club, Kin Canada, or if submitted more than once. Deadline

Applications for the 2026-2027 school year are open October 1, 2025 until February 1, 2026 at 11:59pm Pacific Time (firm deadline).

Club Review

Each club reviews all submitted application forms and selects one to be endorsed and forwarded to the Board of Trustees for review on or before March 1.

Board Selection

The Board selects a number of applicants to receive a bursary of $1,000 each, based on that year's contributions to the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund. The successful recipients and their sponsoring clubs are notified by June 30.

Eligibility

  1. Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  2. Must be a full-time student in the process of graduating from high school or currently studying or registered at a post-secondary institution.
  3. Must complete the current application form by February 1. Bursary winners are notified before June 30 by their sponsoring club.
  4. Must not have previously been awarded a Kin Canada Bursary.
  5. Will be evaluated on their community and school involvement, knowledge of Kin Canada and financial need.
