The University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation provides full or partial tuition scholarships to aspiring chemical, civil, computer, electrical and mechanical engineering students at the University of Maine who are interested in pursuing careers in the booming paper industry.

Each year, we award more than 130 of these scholarships, supported by annual gifts from more than 60 companies in 50 states, as well as individual gifts from more than 300 alumni and friends.

Curriculum requirements

Over the course of study, recipients of a Pulp and Paper Foundation scholarship must demonstrate or have:

  • Cumulative GPA ≥3.0
  • Active interest in a career in pulp and paper or supplier industries by participating in:
    • Chinn Management Seminars
    • Student Organization membership
    • Co-op job or internships after the sophomore year of study

First-year students

  • Complete and submit the online application form and other requested documents at UMainePPF.org/scholarships
  • Application deadline for first-year scholarships is December 31. Applications accepted after that date if funds allow.
