Since 1990, PracticeMatch has empowered physicians with education and career opportunities to help them meet their personal and professional goals. In 2017, PracticeMatch started a new tradition to assist residents and fellows in their passion and drive to care for others. The PracticeMatch Empowered Resident Scholarship has been founded to award students who exhibit community involvement and dedication to caring for others.
This scholarship will help offset the high cost of education for current residents and fellows. To enter, submit your CV and an essay (minimum of 500 words) about your inspiration for pursuing a medical career and how you plan to use your education to better your community and make a difference in the lives of others. The winner will receive $2000 to be put toward their education.
CRITERIA
Scholarship essays will be judged on the student's ability to express and validate his or her view, rather than on whether PracticeMatch agrees with the student's view. Judges will look for writing that is clear, articulate, and logically organized. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the value of caring for others through a medical career.
JUDGES
PracticeMatch executive team and departmental directors who have a close appreciation of the value and impact of healthcare providers in their community and across the nation.
